Panel Discussion: Things You Know But Cannot Explain

The Boise Art Museum presents a panel discussion using the artwork of Native American artist Rick Bartow (1946-2016) as a focal point to have conversations about heritage, culture, storytelling, transformation, and identity, in conjunction with the exhibition, “Rick Bartow: Things You Know But Cannot Explain.” Bartow was a member of the Wiyot tribe of Northern California. Personal experiences, cultural engagement and global myths, especially Native American transformation stories, are the heart of Bartow's art. Three panelists, along with the moderator, will lend insight and help audience members understand and make personal and multi-disciplinary connections between the work of an important American artist and their own experiences. Tickets are $10 BAM Members, $15 Non-members, and available online or at the door.

Panel discussion, Wednesday, November 8, 2017, 6:00 p.m., Boise State University Special Events Center, 1800 University Drive, Boise ID 83725.
