Boise’s Industrial Past

Dr. Jennifer Stevens, June 2, 2020

People generally know Boise's agricultural history, but little about its industrial history. Jennifer Stevens will treat the audience to an overview of the city's robust 20th century industrial history and the systematic dismantling of its industrial relics to make way for Boise's modern "green" identity.

Dr. Jennifer Stevens is an urban environmental historian and an Assistant Clinical Professor. She earned her Ph.D. in History at University of California, Davis, and her B.A. at University of California, Santa Barbara in History and Political Science. Her current research, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, focuses on the impact of deindustrialization on the American West and western urban identity.
