Songs of the Winds: 1,200 Miles by Canoe Down the Snake River in 1925

This presentation tells the story of twenty-three-year-old Amos Burg’s journey down the Snake River from Jackson, Wyoming to the Pacific Ocean in the summer of 1925, paddling a canvas canoe. Idaho was already in the throes of the agricultural depression and Burg visited farm and ranch families along the way and hitched around the four dams then in place. The story is told with 110 black and white slides of photographs taken by Burg along his voyage.
